A Change of Pace and an Auspicious Anniversary
The 27th Elizabeth Madox Roberts Society Conference marks two important moments in the history of the EMRS and Roberts scholarship more generally.
Following a nearly unanimous vote in favor of the motion at the 2024 EMRS Business meeting, our conference is making a move to a biennial schedule. We hope this change will allow members more time to recharge in between society gatherings while also freeing us to more effectively evangelize for Roberts and the study of her works. To that end, the 2025 EMRS Business meeting will be held at the SSAWW conference in Philadelphia, PA, November 6-9. The EMRS plans to sponsor a Roberts panel and encourages members to submit Roberts scholarship for presentation throughout the conference.
When we gather back in Kentucky in October of 2026, it will be to celebrate not only the 27th edition of the EMRS Conference, with its new schedule, but also to mark the 100th anniversary of The Time of Man! Stay tuned for further details and Calls for Papers.
